• 10 Things Coming To ABC Family

    • It has been ten years since 10 Things I Hate About You hit the big screen, and now ABC Family wants to revive the project for a television series. The movie starred Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, and it took a take on Shakespeare. ABC Family has actually had some decent programming in the teen market, so I’m curious to see what happens here with this series. There is some concern that the series won’t have enough plot. There is only so much you can do with a plot based completely on a Shakespearan play. ABC Family is hoping to have more than enough though.

      ABC Family is the home of one of my favorite series, Kyle XY. That series follows the life of a teenage boy that was genetically formed. There are so many twists and turns in this series, and I’m glad to report that there has been an order for a season three which will appear on Monday nights at 9/8c starting Monday, January 12, 2009. There has been ten episodes ordered for the series. This is a small order, but season two started much the same way. An additional order for thirteen more episodes was made, and I am hoping the same happens here.

      I’m a woman older than her teens, but good programming is good programming. If it is good, it will cross boundaries created by age and other things to reach a greater audience.  When I first tuned into Kyle XY, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it, but I was pulled in from the series premiere. We will have to wait and see if this new ABC Family series will be able to do the same with its viewer. We will have to wait and see.
