    • Fans waiting anxiously for the return of Fox’s 24 probably just held their breath for a moment. 24 wasn’t seen at all last season because of a few factors. The writer’s strike being one of them, and the other being the month Sutherland spent behind bars putting a stop on production. If Sutherland hadn’t had to go into the slammer, there might not have been any need for a halt at all. However, Fox decided to wait til 2009 for the next season of 24.

There will be a television movie to hold fans over a bit. That hits Fox in November, and season seven of the series is set to hit Fox in January. However, over the weekend production on the series was put to a standstill. The producers aren’t happy with the direction the series has taken in the last episodes filmed, so they are going back and rewriting some things. This might be a case of them thinking way too much.

The show has been on a halt for almost two years now. That is a long time. Fans will not be happy if this season is less than the standard they have come to expect from Jack Bauer and 24. All looks well for the series to still return in January. Production is set to continue on October 9. For now, Sutherland can enjoy a little unexpected down time. Not sure if he wants that, but he is certainly getting it.
