A Look At The Sarah Connor Chronicles
-
Fox has been talking about this show coming to the network for the past year. It was hyped over and over again in the press, and the show has now finally hit. A few weeks in, and we have a pretty good idea at just what this series is about. It takes place in that span of time in between the second and third film, but the series doesn’t follow its time line at all. The series is big with a movie feel, and we even have a movie star to head things in Lena Headey. She had huge shoes to fill taking over the role from Linda Hamilton who played Sarah Connor in the movie. We can see the high cost this series has, and it is worth it. The series was off air this week to political coverage, but things will pick up next week. In this series, Sarah, John and his terminator protector played by Summer Glau have traveled through time in order to once again prevent Skynet from being created and the war of the machines to begin. Some things are kept true to the movie time line. We know sometime in this series, Sarah Connor will in fact die from cancer. The terminator warns her of this, and Sarah does her best in order to prevent it. There is a terminator after them, and the three must stay one step ahead of their game if they are to survive.
This series is fast paced with a lot of things to follow. Ratings have been positive, but you have to wonder how much of that is due to the fact we have a strike going on with not much to watch in the way of new programming. There are some series that stand out. Kyle XY being one, and this series definitely being another for me. I find myself tuning in, and I will continue to do so until this series ends with its season finale in early March. We will have to hope the ratings continue on, and the series stays around for a second season. I know I’m hoping for that.

I watched the premier and the special FX blew me away! Possibly the highest production value I’ve seen of a TV show. Virgin 1 have managed to secure broadcast rights in the UK, definitely a victory over Sky One.
