• American Gladiators Makes A 2008 Comeback

    • hulkhogan_granitz_6662093.jpgWith the strike, we are having more and more reality series hit the networks. They don’t need writers to keep themselves going, so they are a safe bet. One show making its return to the networks is American Gladiators. This series was a hit back in the early nineties, and yes I did watch it weekly. Each week, a group of regular folks would go up against the series gladiators in competition. Those that won would continue on until one was named victor. There was various competitions, and the gladiators were nothing to sneeze at.

      NBC mentioned this series coming to the network in August long before there was a mention of a strike. That is when casting calls were put out, and hosts were chosen. The new American Gladiatorsmakes its debut on NBC on Sunday night at 9/8c with two hosts in charge of things, Laila Ali and Hulk Hogan. Hogan is probably best known best for his many years as a wrestler. He’s also been in the news lately because of marital problems with his wife filing for divorce. Ali is known as a boxer, and she was also a contestant on Dancing With The Stars.

      After its debut, the series is set to air on Monday nights. The gladiators have been chosen and they look fierce. Competitions and contestants have also been set, and I for one am looking forward to seeing what this new take on American Gladiators looks like. I do remember watching the series fondly, and I’ve always been a huge fan of Hulk Hogan. This should definitely be a kick.
