      Reality television is the lightest hit when it comes to the writer’s strike, and one of the biggest reality shows there is returns in January. American Idolentering its next season announced its official schedule today. The show make its return with a two-night four-hour premiere on January 15th and 16th. These episodes will contain the best and the worst of the auditions that took place in various cities around the U.S. Auditions will continue to air on both nights for the three following weeks before the competition heads into the Hollywood round on February 12th and 13th. By the end of the episode that airs on the 13th, America will know who the top twenty-four are when the top 12 male and top 12 female contestants are announced.

      After that the vote then goes to America as the contestants start to perform live. For the first few weeks, the males will take the stage on Tuesday nights, while the ladies hit us on Wednesday nights. The live results show will air on Thursday. Once we have lost some of our contestants, the performance show will stick to Tuesday night with the results show moving to Wednesday night. The schedule as it is now is only through March. After that things heat up even more, and we will one new American Idol named some time during May sweeps.

      American Idolis one of the country’s most popular shows. Many of its contestants have gone to win awards. Not just the winners themselves but those that make it into the top five have all done extremely well. Names like Clarkson and Daughtry are now known by wide audiences, and it has become a jumping off point for those that want to make it in this business.
