Are any of your favorite American Idols among this year’s list of Grammy Award Nominees? Keep reading as I reveal the names of six American Idols who earned their 2007 Grammy Nominations.First up we have Kelly Clarkson who won the very first season of American Idol. She received one Grammy Nomination in the Best Country Collaboration category for her fourth single Because of You.

Carrie Underwood, winner of American Idol Season 4, was nominated for four Grammy Awards in 2006 and won two of those Grammy Awards (Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance). Her success continues this year as she has received two nominations for Best Female Country Vocal Performance (Before He Cheats) and Best Country Collaboration (Oh Love).
Remember Mandisa? She placed ninth on American Idol Season 5, and this year she could take home the 2007 Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album (True Beauty). True Beauty was Mandisa’s debut album, released in July 2007.
Finally, the American Idol with the most 2007 Grammy Nominations was Chris Daughtry’s band Daughtry. Chris Daughtry came in fourth on American Idol Season 5. After being voted off American Idol, his band celebrated the release of their self-title debut album, which sold over one million copies! To add to their success, the Daughtry band earned themselves four 2007 Grammy nominations: Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group (It’s Not Over), Best Rock Song (It’s Not Over), Best Rock Album (Daughtry) and Best Pop Performance by Due or Group (Home).

I’ve been completely blown away by the amount of American Idols (AI) who made the Grammy’s this year. America loves there AI. I certainly am looking forward to a new season.
I’m also amazed with all Chris Daughtry’s fellow Idol’s that appear in the new Chicken Soup for the Soul. I wish Chris had his own story in it too. But so there are some wonderful AI moments in the book. So much happening in the American Idol world, how will we ever keep up! Good luck at the Grammy’s!
