- Do you remember the series One Day At A Time? A single mom raising her two teen daughters in a small apartment. Her relationship with the handy man downstairs? This was classic television. One of the stars of that series is now returning to television in an all new sitcom for TBS television. The project is still not titled, but Valerie will play a single mother of two. Does this sound familiar? Could she be going back to her roots a bit? I think this could be a good show if done right.
  
  Sitcoms have been a hard sell for me in recent years. Many are just the same as the ones I used to watch growing up. I have turned to dramas for my television viewing. The only sitcoms in recent years I have found myself enjoying were Freddie and According to Jim. Freddie was quickly canceled, and According To Jim fluctuates on its network. I remember classic sitcoms. Those used to make me tune in.
  
  Remember Roseanne? The Golden Girls? How about The Cosby Show and A Different World? Home Improvement? How about The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Charles in Charge? All of these were just classics in their day, and I tuned in to watch them weekly. The sitcom is different to me these days, and maybe we need someone from the past to come back and save it. Valerie could be just that person.
