Britney Spears Not Up For Emmy
-
The Emmy’s are big news this summer as we gear up to find out just who is nominated this year for awards. Some have pulled themselves out of contention, while others are ignored and yes some even forgot to submit themselves altogether. The buzz started a few weeks ago when Katherine Heigl pulled herself out of the race. This started a firestorm against the actress talking about her being ungrateful to the show that has made her star rise so much. Then Rebecca Romijn forgot to even send her name in for her role of Alexis Meade on ABC’s Ugly Betty.
Of course, you have to wonder just a bit about that omission too. Romijn has recently expressed her unhappiness with the series and its new writers. Next season, Alexis will only be seen in limited appearances due to her unhappiness with the path the series is taking. I actually love her work on Ugly Betty, and I also enjoyed her previous television outing as Pepper Dennis. It’ll be interesting to see what changes come about by her appearing less on the series. We’ll find out when the series returns in the fall for its third season.
News this week has it though that Britney Spears is not up for consideration for her highly popular guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother. Her name was left of the top ten list of semi-finalists for the category of Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. Mary Kate Olsen was also left off for her own guest appearance. Carrie Fisher ( yes, Princess Leia ) is up for voting though for her appearance on 0 Rock. We will find out who is nominated later this month, and the awards will be handed out on September 6. For those in America, have a great Fourth of July weekend. I’ll be back Monday with more news from the television world.

I want to mention a book by Michael Webb, a famous relationship expert. A good idea when dealing with a relationship problem is communication, as if we didn’ know that already. The tricky part is doing something about it. If you still have a chance at getting back, The quality of a relationship is a function of the extent to which it meets the needs of the two people involved. That means you have two jobs. You have to figure out what your needs are, and you have to teach them to your partner. And if you talk about those needs, and you recognize what’s important, that’s what true intimacy is. Intimacy is not just physicality; it’s when you truly let someone else into your personal reality with the safety and security of knowing they won’t abuse it. It’s a good book and worth reading if you need to win her back!!
