Carrie Underwood, winner of American Idol Season 4, took home two Grammys Sunday night. She won Best Female Country Vocal Performance for Before He Cheats and Best Country Song, also for Before He Cheats. In her acceptance speech for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, she thanked a number of people who contributed to her growing success, which included God (whom she put first and should have), her fans, family and friends, American Idol, the promotional staff and several others. Although Before He Cheats was also nominated for Song of the Year, she failed to take home the Grammy in that category.Since winning American Idol Season 4, Carrie Underwood has certainly come a long way. Some Hearts, her debut album, was certified 7x platinum and sold more than 300,000 copies. Furthermore, Carnival Ride, her second album, sold over two million copies!
Sunday night’s Grammys aren’t the first awards for Carrie Underwood.
