    • The summer reality craze has been renewed for a new season set for next summer. America’s Got Talent is the top show of the summer, and a hit for NBC. That has me scratching my head a bit, as things often do. I tuned in to watch America’s Got Talent the first season. I watched for two weeks before I couldn’t force myself to watch anymore, and I had to pull the plug on it. There was just something wrong with it. However, it looks like for once I may be in the minority.

Things have been interesting this past week. We had two injuries on set during rehearsals. One happened to George the Giant as he passed out during practicing his trick. He was suspending himself from overhead tangled up in chains. He did go on to perform his trick on the show this week, and he was turned into a human pinata as kids hit him with a stick. The performance did not go over well! There was another injury with a trio, and these three had to remove themselves from the competition entirely.

What is it with reality competition series that people love so much? It seems if you put people against each other, other people will join in to watch. Whether it is Survivor or American Idol. Then you have the dance series that popped up after Dancing With The Stars took off. Everything from So You Think You Can Dance to America’s Best Dance Crew. People tune in to watch. Do you get your reality fix from these shows? Do you watch America’s Got Talent or are you like me and are left scratching your head!

Do have a unique or unusual talent that you think might be worth one million dollars! America’s Got Talent is now taking applications for season 3. There’s no age limit to audition for America’s Got Talent; however, contestants under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian apply for them.

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely looking forward to America’s Got Talent Season 3. I enjoy watching the different variety of acts. It always fascinates me what some people can do! For instance, I loved watching the “Quick Change” artists, David and Dania, on season 1 of America’s Got Talent. Still to this day I can’t figure out how Dania changed clothes and hairstyles so quickly. I realize that she may have had several different outfits on, but how did she go from a long dress to a short dress in a matter of seconds? I guess I’ll never discover their secret, but one thing’s for sure, it was a very interesting act to watch. In fact, I thought their act was worth the million-dollar prize. Apparently, though, not all of America agreed with me. Oh well, my favorites can’t win all of the time, now can they? ;)

Maybe you could be my favorite act this year and win my votes, but you won’t know if you don’t try out. Besides, if there’s ever a time to audition for America’s Got Talent, it’s now. “Why,” you ask. I’ll tell you… According to the official America’s Got Talent website, this is supposed to be the “biggest contestant tour yet!” So, what are you waiting for? Head to America’s Got Talent and apply today. Good luck and I hope to see you on my TV next year!
