Not only that, but there are rumors that Denny will once again return to Grey’s Anatomy before the season ends out. Some think that appearance might be this week. We won’t know until the episode airs if that is the case, but now that we know Izzie wasn’t seeing some kind of ghost earlier this season, it’ll be interesting to see just how Izzie sees him now. That story line raised quite a few eyebrows this season. I know mine was one of them. However, they explained it, and with cancer that traveled to the brain, it does make sense.

With last week’s episode, Izzie has been busy planning the wedding, and she even created a website for it. ABC has gone ahead and put this website online with a little bit of help from TheKnot.com. This is definitely not the first time the series has gone interactive on the Internet. When the series began, Joe the Bartender managed an online blog on the series’ website. Something I actually enjoyed reading, and I wish they had kept up with it. Have you been to Meredith & Derek’s website?

The possibility of a baby in the future for the two would definitely add something to the series. Spoilers for the rest of the season say that Meredith and Derek will not be getting married this year, so happily ever after is not in the cards for this one just yet. This is no surprise at all really. A happily ever after for the top couple in the series would just bring things to a screeching halt.

For Grey’s Anatomy to survive, there has to be drama and conflict. This is true of any television series. Somehow ER managed to stay on air for fifteen seasons, but I’m already wondering if Grey’s Anatomy has that kind of staying power. Who is to say the current team at Grey’s will even want to stick around for all of that anyway? Heigl and Knight have already made it clear behind the scenes they will want to leave. Will a McBaby change things on set? We never see Bailey’s kid as it is, but she isn’t Meredith either. What do you think?

The same is happening with Melissa George it appears because her character, Meredith’s former best friend, quit Seattle Grace in last weeks episode. However, maybe it isn’t the lesbian line at all because little Arizona, the new pediatrics doctor on staff, has made her move on Callie, and apparently Callie is interested. She just needs to get over the butterflies. The ones on Arizona’s med kit.

The back and forth behind the scenes gossip the past week has surrounded T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl. Both actors have expressed unhappiness with the series. George isn’t getting enough air time, and Heigl complained about last season’s writing over the summer. They brought back Denny this year for a couple of months, and we now have some idea that something is wrong with Izzie.

Will she end up dying and heading into the light with her true love? What about George? Will he up and leave Seattle Grace? Little Grey has already moved on from her crush on him to breaking Mark Sloan’s … well ahem! There is never a dull moment at Seattle Grace, is there? What do you think?

T.R. Knight has made a similar request to leave the series, but him asking that I can understand. He is barely seen in episodes now. No idea on how he will make his exit, but we now can see where Heigl might make hers. In recent weeks, Denny has returned to the series. Izzie has seen him, and she has even had sex with the ghost. She has asked him to leave, but he stays on. This week we learned why. He is there to take her back to heaven with him. She will die. However, she once again sends him away and chooses to live.

Of course, her choosing to live means she needs to find out how she is sick and then find a cure. Many are scratching their heads over this whole plot, but I have found myself enjoying it. It is a bit far fetched, but it is also amusing. Grey’s Anatomy is known for the far fetched. Now we just have to wait and see what happens to Izzie and George. Are the days for the two on the series numbered?

Not long after these rumors began to circulate, a representative for the series came out to speak on them. T.R. Knight had not walked off the set or quit the series. This represenative told Us Magazine the following:

T.R. has never walked off set in the middle of filming. He attended the table read today and will be shooting this week, like any other week of production.

Is there behind the scenes trouble on the set of Grey’s Anatomy? This wouldn’t be the first time Knight has been involved in drama behind the scenes at Grey’s. Back during season two, we saw two co-stars fighting over him, and one of them was eventually forced to leave the series because of it.  Entertainment Weekly have now added a new twist to this. T.R. has asked to be allowed to leave the show.

The series is definitely raising eyebrows lately with its current story line between Izzie and Denny, the firing of Brooke Smith, and whatever else might be happening behind the scenes. Only time will tell what else happens.

On last week’s episode, Erica Hahn proclaimed that she was in fact gay. Now ABC is pulling the plug on things. The network has also asked that other changes be made. These changes have to do with a new character coming into Grey’s Anatomy played by actress Melissa George. Her character was originally set to be bisexual and cause some drama between Callie and Erica. This has been re-written, and Melissa’s character will now be entirely straight.

This isn’t the first time an issue like this has come up. Rebecca Romijn from ABC’s Ugly Betty also had some issues with her character of Alexis Meade, a transgender. The actress was pushed back to recurring status, and now Alexis has disappeared from the series entirely. She might return once Rebecca gives birth to her twins.

It does give a lot to think about. This change yesterday was quite abrupt. No one really saw it coming. Michael Ausiello was the first to break the news, and now fans are in an uproar over this dismissal. Critics hadn’t been entirely happy with how things were being dealt with in regard to the plot line, but I found myself watching with amusement and enjoying it. What do you think of the wiping out of the gay story line by ABC and Grey’s Anatomy? Is the network drawing a line against gay people?

Grey’s Anatomy goes more towards the soap opera spectrum of things. There is more drama to it. Grey’s Anatomy tries to punch at you with the spectacular. ER focuses more on real life drama. Yes, ER has had its fantastic moments, but only in Grey’s Anatomy did you see one of the doctor’s with her hands inside a deer trying to save it. Of course, on ER you saw a helicopter fall from the roof and kill one of the doctor’s. On Grey’s, one has almost drowned, another has been shot and just this week one doctor had an icicle pierce her through the stomach and narrowly miss her heart. Both go lengths to make good television.

Last year, Grey’s Anatomy, as the rest of television, had a shorter season. We saw this hurt television some. Grey’s Anatomy didn’t have the best season. Katherine Heigl, spoke up about this, and it made big news. Now it is a new season, and Grey’s Anatomy looks like it is right back on its game. They know they slipped last season. I think showing the hospital slip down its rankings was the writer’s acknowledging the fact they need to step up their game this year. I think if they keep up the momentum they made in the first episode, they might just do it. What do you think?

As for the new additions, one is recognizable to the fans of The L Word. Janina Gavankar played Papi on the series, and somehow just ended up vanishing after a wonderful performance. On Grey’s Anatomy, she will be coming in as an intern. This will be a recurring role, but it could be bumped up to full status if things go well. The other new addition is Brandon Scott, who fans of Cold Case might recognize.

Rumors are still flying that Katherine Heigl might end up making her exit this season, and there are even rumors that Denny will return during the fifth season opener. Not sure what he will be doing, but it will be nice to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan at Seattle Grace. Denny was one of their best characters, and it was hard to see him go. His brief appearance following Meredith’s almost drowning was a fan pleaser.

Whether Heigl stays or goes, some are starting to say the series has too many characters to work with. These new faces will have to work extra hard to stick around with a full cast already in place. What do you think? Are there too many faces on Grey’s Anatomy already?

The writers are mad, but those in the cast have come out making comments in support of Heigl. This season of Grey’s Anatomy was not its best. I’ve stated that before, and I will state it again. It didn’t pack the punch that previous seasons had, and Heigl was the only brave enough to say so as a member of the cast. She called a spade a spade. However, this doesn’t always bode well when someone speaks their mind.

Will her comments spell the end of her involvement with Grey’s Anatomy? We will have to tune in this next season to find out. We do know Grey’s Anatomy has no problems taking out the trash. They sent Washington packing after his issues on set. In other ABC news, GLAAD has recognized Brothers & Sisters for its gay story line. That series came in two seasons in the time slot once owned by Grey’s Anatomy, and it is now entering its third season.

This series is one of my favorites, and I loved how they handled the story line with Kevin and his boyfriend, now husband. Yes, gay marriages have hit prime time. While it has been seen before on series such as Roseanne, this is the first time a series has had it happen between two regular characters.

I’ve been a fan of Grey’s Anatomy since the very beginning. Season two was one of the best of television series for me in awhile. This most recent season just had me puzzled. It never picked up any momentum for me, and it was just weak in comparison to the previous seasons. There were some highlights, but not many. Was sending off Addison to Los Angeles the smartest decision they could have made? Was losing Burke hurtful to the series in the long run?

These are all questions I have pondered myself. The writer’s strike might be to blame for the issues that Grey’s Anatomy had this year. Katherine Heigl has said her performance and the performance of the writers wasn’t strong enough to warrant an Emmy nomination this year, and this caused a true firestorm that has yet to be resolved. It looks for now Heigl will remain a part of the cast, but her future might be limited.

One of the surprises this past season for me was the lesbian relationship beginning between Torres and Hahn. This was initiated by Addison’s comments, and I almost wish Private Practice would fall apart. Addison was a vital part of this cast, and it took her returning for one episode for me to see that. We’ll have to see what happens in this upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy. It is filming now.
