It’s too bad that Kevin McKidd’s character, Dan Vasser, can only travel to the past. If the future came in to play, maybe he could somehow convince NBC execs not to ax Journeyman.

The time-travel drama has been deemed doomed by those-who-know in the industry. The series was a slow starter, it’s rating diminishing each week.

NBC ordered only 13 episodes of Journeyman. The deadline for renewing the series passed yesterday. The network announced that both Life and Chuck were being renewed, but gave no mention of Journeyman, signaling that the series is all but cancelled.

There is a small movement among the show’s fan-base that is seeking to keep Journeyman on the small screen, but it might be too little too late.

That’s a shame for Kevin McKidd. He stole the show in HBO’s Rome, and has a good presence on camera. The same goes for Moon Bloodgood, who landed a leading role after 5 years as a TV journeywoman. Bloodgood has had some success on the big screen in The Pathfinder, and will have a role in the upcoming Robert De Niro film, What Just Happened. McKidd is also headed for the big screen, with three films coming out in the next couple of years. Looks like he has scored some meaty roles, including a turn as famous poet Dylan Thomas.

Journeyman will probably end up on DVD, where it will represent a good bet for Sci-Fi fans.  The show’s final episode will air December 19th on NBC.
