This season’s Last Comic Standing will win $250,000, an exclusive talent deal with NBC, a new Honda and a starring appearance at Bally’s Las Vegas in Jubilee. Last Comic Standing 6 is scheduled to air Thursday, May 22, 2008 beginning at 9:30pm Eastern time. Be sure to tune in and watch the funny and the not so funny as they compete for a spot in the finals. Mark your calendars so you don’t miss it!

Back in December I interviewed comedian Josh Blue. In the interview, I revealed that his fiancé, Yuko, was pregnant and Josh said they expected the “little guy” to arrive this spring. Well, the “little guy” did arrive at 7:57am on March 10, 2008 (one day before my birthday, would you believe that). Josh Blue and Yuko named their new son Simon Blue. Simon weighed in at 7 pounds and 7.5 ounces, and he certainly is an adorable little boy. His publicist said she would send me a picture of the little guy soon, so when she does I will add the photo here. Until then you can check out Josh Blue’s MySpace where he has added a few pictures of him and Yuko with their new son. Without further ado, here’s the interview with Josh Blue:

Misti: Aside from your gig at the Improv Comedy Club in West Palm, do you have any other plans for the New Year?

Josh: I’m going to blow where the wind takes me, and hopefully that will be in the direction of fun.

Misti: How about New Year’s resolutions for 2008: do you have any of those?

Josh: A hundred and one. Most important is to spend as much time with my lady and my baby, when he comes.

Misti: In a blog entry on the Josh Blue Fan Site, you confirmed that your girlfriend was pregnant. Have you picked out any names for the baby yet? Can you share the due date with us? By the way, congratulations!

Josh: Aww, thanks. Yeah, we’re excited to see the little guy, too, sometime this spring. The names change every day. I like things like Thunder and Studmuffin, but I don’t think my gf’s going to go for it.

Misti: Did your fan base increase after you won Last Comic Standing?

Josh: Hey, I sure hope so! The exposure from LCS opened up new venues for me, which has made a big difference. I’m getting to travel around the country more, and meeting more people after the shows.

Misti: Have you ever had any hecklers? If so, what’s the funniest heckler moment you can recall?

Josh: Each one thinks he’s the funniest one yet. I like them, though, because it gives me a chance to have some fun with them. They open themselves up for comment and it’s hard to resist.

Misti: Have you stayed in touch with any of the other comedians from Last Comic Standing Season 4?

Josh: Yeah, and I’m still big fans of theirs. They’re all working hard out there so I try to see ‘em at some of their shows.

Misti: Other than your debut DVD, 7 Days in the Tank, do you have any other plans for the big screen?

Josh: Why yes, I’m so glad you asked. I have a part in a soon-to-be timeless classic known as Feast III. Not one for the kiddies, but it’s a thrill.

Misti: Who’s your favorite comedian or comedians?

Josh: I got a bunch: Mitch Hedberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, love ‘em love ‘em love ‘em.

Misti: Do you have any tips for aspiring comedians who may be considering auditioning for Last Comic Standing?

Josh: Don’t try out in the winter in Chicago; you will freeze your face off. And do a lot of gigs beforehand to get comfortable in front of people who will make or break your career.

After winning Last Comic Standing Season 4, Josh Blue took to the roads in a cross-country tour. The tour has been a success and resulted in many of his shows being sell-outs. In addition to attracting sold-out crowds, Regis and Kelley presented Josh with the Relly Award for Best Winning Reality Show Guest on their show: Live with Regis and Kelley. Josh continues to impress his fans through his performances at comedy clubs, theater engagements, college campuses, corporate events and many other places. Folks, I might like to laugh and make jokes while I’m on stage but I have a serious side, and I feel it’s time to set the record straight. It’s gotten back to me though various channels (I have my sources) that there’s a rumor circulating that my girlfriend is pregnant. What?? If this were the case, people, I would obviously be the first to know. And I am here to tell you that she is in no way–

People I am here to confirm to you that my girlfriend IS, in fact, pregnant! Roll out the red carpets and shine the handicap entrance buttons, I made a baby! Okay, okay, WE made a baby. But this is my blog so I get to say ‘I.’ “

I must say, Jon was up against some tough competition at the end. Both he and Lavell Crawford made the final two, and I honestly didn’t know which one of them was going to win. Jon and Lavell won my heart and laughter. They were hilarious! In fact, it wouldn’t have surprised me if they announced a tie vote and both Jon and Lavell won. Nevertheless, since Jon Reep earned more votes than Lavell, this post will focus on Jon’s success since Last Comic Standing Season 5. However, that doesn’t mean I won’t do another post about Lavell soon. As I just said, they were both hilarious, so doing an update piece on both of them is exciting to say the least.

Back to Jon Reep… Since winning Last Comic Standing Season 5, Jon has left the small town life and moved to the city life in Los Angeles, booked many comedy gigs, appeared on MadTV and other television programs, and he even landed himself the role of a redneck named Raymus in Harold and Kumar 2. Harold and Kumar 2 is a comedy/adventure starring Neil Patrick Harris — currently scheduled for release in April 2008.
