    • Big Brother or American IdolI enjoy watching Big Brother and American Idol, but since they both air in the same time slots on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, I have to choose between one. Personally, I’ll be tuning in to American Idol. One reason I’ll choose American Idol over Big Brother is because you can’t watch full episodes of American Idol on the Internet, but you can watch full episodes of Big Brother on CBS. What if I couldn’t watch full episodes of Big Brother on CBS? Well, sorry CBS but I’d still tune in to FOX.

It appears as if I’m not the only one who feels this way either. According to Reality Blurred, the debut of Big Brother acquired 7.3 million viewers while American Idol gained over 25 million viewers. Then on Wednesday night, Variety reported that Big Brother had 5.8 million viewers, and once again, American Idol won the most with 24.6 million viewers.

CBS’s decision to air Big Brother on the same nights and in the same time slots as American Idol may not have been the best choice. What are your thoughts on this situation? Which do you prefer to watch: Big Brother or American Idol? Leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments section.

    • Tomorrow night, February 12, at 9:00 p.m. Easter Time, CBS will air the first winter edition of Big Brother, and this year’s theme will be ‘Til Death Do You Part. Exciting? I certainly think so!

According to BB9 Spoilers, this season of Big Brother 9 will be couples vs. couples, so to speak. Yes, that is correct. Through the help of a matchmaker, Big Brother 9 paired the houseguests, and throughout this edition of Big Brother 9, the couples will compete together, be nominated together, vote together and even share the same bed. Boy, oh boy, I can hardly contain my excitement! It is as it always is with Big Brother: “expect the unexpected.”

Would you like to meet the Big Brother 9 houseguests and find out who’s paired with who? Head over to BB9 Spoilers where they disclosed the information as well as shared a few videos of some of the houseguests. However, before you leave here to visit BB9 Spoilers, check out the YouTube video below. In the following video, host Julie Chen will take you on a tour of the new Big Brother house. You’ll get to see the theme, which includes this year’s pets (yes, that’s plural), a few new additions to the house, the bedrooms, a glimpse inside the diary room and more. Are you wondering if you’ll get to see the HOH room before the houseguests? Well, you’ll just have to watch the video for that answer.

What are you waiting for? Click play and begin your tour of the Big Brother 9 house.

    • CBS Making Changes In Line-Up

A post about by Regina Avalos on December 5th, '07

    • Big BrotherAt least one network is making changes in their line-up following the new year with the strike still a major factor. Soon after the strike began on November 5th, CBS announced it might consider bringing back their summer series, Big Brother, for another season this winter. Those plans have moved forward. Casting for the ninth edition of Big Brother is already under way, and once the series premieres it will fill three one hour slots in the CBS mid-season schedule. Episodes of Survivor and 48 Hours Mystery will also come into play early next year, along with an all-new game show called Power of 10.

As far as scripted series go, fans will see the return of Jericho with seven new episodes. This is the post-apocalyptic series which fans saved from cancellation by sending in tons of peanuts. Two comedies will also return this mid-season - The New Adventures of Old Christine and a new comedy titled The Captain. There is also word that CBS might somehow re-edit their hit Showtime product Dexter for airing on CBS. This is the latest buzz the last few days, and there is no word that this could officially happen. Dexter is one of their hot products though, and it might help fill in a void on the network and build even more fans for the series. The only question here is whether or not the series could be properly edited for the network without losing what the show is about.

    • Big Brother 8 HouseguestsDue to the WGA Strike, CBS has decided that Big Brother is popular enough to carry them through the WGA Strike. So beginning in February, all of us Big Brother addicts will once again be glued to the television set, and some may even tune into the 24-hour live feeds, which are almost as addictive as the television episodes!

Ok, maybe you don’t want to watch Big Brother 9… Instead, you want to be the star of the show and try to outsmart the other houseguests to win the half a million dollars. Good news, friends, you just might land yourself a spot in the Big Brother house if you audition. Casting calls for Big Brother 9 have already begun. You can apply online or visit any of the 15 cities to reserve your place in the Big Brother 9 house.

Before you apply to become a Big Brother 9 houseguest, you may want to check out some advice from Robyn Kass, the casting director of Big Brother. In Robyn’s interview with BB9Spoilers.com, she revealed some application dos and don’ts. For example, when asked what qualities and personality traits the Big Brother casting teams looks for, she said they seek people with “strong opinions” and “people who are gonna shake it up.” Ah, “shake it up”… Remind you of anyone? Think hard. If Dick (aka, “Evil Dick”) from last season’s Big Brother came to mind, you’re correct!

If you truly believe you’re the one Big Brother 9 is looking for, check out the entire interview with Robyn Kass.

Good luck and I hope to see you on the show in February!
