    • The rumors of this started back in October, and there were even a few rumors circulating back over the summer. The CW has decided to go ahead with a Melrose Place based series. They decided to jump on this now after seeing how well 90210 is doing. That series airs on Tuesday nights, but it is currently on a hiatus for the holidays. It will return on January 6th with all new episodes.

Back in 1992, Melrose Place premiered on Fox as a spin-off on 90210. Kelly Taylor dated an older man for a few episodes on Beverly Hills, 90210. The relationship didn’t last, but the resulting series did live on for seven years. Heather Locklear was the star of this one once she hit the building, and Jack Wagner also played a part. Who doesn’t remember Marcia Cross as crazy Kimberly?

There really is no telling what will happen on this one. A script is set to be written next month for a pilot episode, and if things go well we could see Melrose Place on CW next fall. No word on which familiar faces will come to the series. Could we see the return of Amanda Woodward? Anything is possible! What do you think of the return of Melrose Place? I know I was a big fan of this series when it was aired, and I’m curious to see what they will do with it coming back.  It could be a hit or a flop. Too early to tell.

  1. One Response to “CW Picks Up Melrose Place”

    1. Abigail Hamilton Says:

When I became addicted to 90210 and Melrose Place all those years ago, it was a guilty pleasure. I had no idea these shows would warrant reinventing and would find a next-generation audience. That said, just because I didn’t anticipate it, I’m not surprised. There’s something irresistible about fresh-faced problems!
