    • GWe seem to have been doing this game for months now. E.R. is in its final season, and just last week NBC extended its last year by four episodes. A few familiar faces have returned to the series to say good-bye, but one has fought returning to the series at all. That one hold-out has been Dr. Doug Ross played by George Clooney. He had been asked repeatedly to return to the series during its fond farewell. Every time he was asked, he said no because he was too busy.

George is big man actor now. He can’t find the time to do a television show right? Well, wrong. Something has changed his tune, and he will be returning to the set of E.R. later this week to a closed set for filming of scenes. No word on just how they will bring Doug Ross back, and his significant other from his time on the series is still a hold out. Will Julianna Marguiles stop saying no now that George has decided to come back.

We even saw Dr. Mark Greene, played by Anthony Edwards, return to the series.  Yes, he’s dead, but they figured out a way to connect the present on the series to an event in the past. This allowed us to see the favorite doctor one more time before the series comes to a close. E.R. has been a top series on NBC for fifteen series, and while all good things do have to eventually end, this one is stretching it out as much as they can. What do you think of George returning to E.R.?
