    • Award season is upon us, and last night we had the Golden Globes handed out. This is the night when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honors the best in both movies and television. Let’s talk about the television winners from last night’s events. HBO and NBC were the big winners last night. The two networks divided the wins between themselves except for one.

Television Drama went to AMC’s Mad Men. HBO won in both actor categories. Anna Paquin of True Blood won Best Actress in Drama. She plays Sookie Stackhouse in the series where she is a telepath that falls in love with a vampire that comes into the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps. True Blood will return for season two in May. On the opposite side, Gabriel Byrne won for In Treatment while HBO’s John Adams won for best mini-series.

On the comedy side of things, NBC swept things with 30 Rock. That series won Best Actor for Adam Baldwin, Best Actress for Tina Fey and Best Comedy. Congratulations to all the winners from last night’s festivities.
