It’s Over?
-
Yes, that is what the word is from Hollywood this morning. The writer’s strike that has slowed television to a crawl and ended some movies from heading into production now looks to be in its final moments. Michael Eisner, formerly of Disney, has said that a deal has been struck. This deal will go to the writer’s this weekend. They could reject the deal, but all things look good. This ends the month’s long strike that has put much of the television world at a stand still. Award shows were affected, and many were worried for the Oscar’s set for later this month. One Oscar party has been canceled already, but this deal might have come just in time to save the festivities on Hollywood’s big night.Even with the strike going on, television has had some good offerings. Fans have had Lost and Supernatural both return with all new episodes in recent weeks. Eli Stone has come in and it looks to be winning the hearts of viewers. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will heat up the rest of February before an explosive season finale in early March. Another favorite of mine has been Kyle XY.
Even with all this new programming airing, I do miss some of my favorites. I miss my weekly dose of Grey’s Anatomy, and that series is currently leaving its fans hanging and waiting for what happens next. Hopefully with the strike now coming to an end, writers and actors will get back to work as soon as possible! This means more television. That is always a good thing. The unexpected three month hiatus will surely affect the months ahead. We will see what happens.
