    • jericho-picture.pngTonight on CBS we will see one series return from the dead. Jericho premiered on the network fall of 2006, and it soon became a cult favorite. Even with its popularity, the series was canceled, only the remaining episodes being allowed to play out. Fans weren’t about to let one of their favorite new shows go quietly though. They were ready to fight, and that is exactly what they did. The post apocalyptic drama in which nuclear bombs have taken out what appears to be most of the country.

In the final episode of the series, the main character says the word nuts, and the fans take this as a call to action. A fan campaign is started to send tons of peanuts to CBS. 40,000 pounds of peanuts made its way to the network, and they just couldn’t ignore that the series did have fans, and those fans wanted their series back. Low ratings were the cause of the series being canceled

These low ratings being caused because viewers are even saving the show to their DVR’s or hopping online to watch. This is where series being shown online can actually hurt a series. The fans are happy at the moment though. They are getting Jericho back tonight for a short season. Seven episodes to be exact. This comes at a time when the writers are just now coming back from their strike, and new programming is still at a bit of a lull.

If they want their show back with a third season they must show the same support they showed by sending in peanuts. They need to tune in and watch the show as it airs to let the network know they are behind this series. That is the only way they can even hope to have this series continue. The power of the nut worked its miracle and it has given them this second chance. They now need to use it.
