    • The L Word closed up its run just last month on Showtime, but fans of the series still had a small bit of hope of seeing their favorite characters again. Long before season six premiered, Ilene Chaiken spoke of a spin-off from The L Word. This spin-off would take Alice from the series to prison. Yes, to anyone that watched season six of The L Word, which had the sole focus of who killed Jenny Schecter. With a series taking Alice from West Hollywood to prison, we can all figure out that Alice was then accused of killing Jenny and sent to jail.

In the series finale of the The L Word, we see Alice find Jenny’s body, and then she is questioned alongside the rest of the ladies. We don’t really know who killed Jenny, and that question was probably going to be answered by this spin-off. However, it was announced by Showtime over the weekend that the spin-off would not happen. The pilot for the series was made, but Showtime didn’t want to take the option to pick it up.

In a way, I’m very glad the option for the spin-off wasn’t picked up. The last season of The L Word was very odd to me. Jenny had been through so much over the six seasons, and she survived all of it. To have her killed off just to end the series seemed like overkill to me, and I know I’m not the only one that felt that way. Many fans were upset by the last season, and even the handling of the series finale. What do you think? Were you looking forward to the L Word spin-off or are you glad its done?
