    • Back in May, we saw the last episode of season three of Lost air. We knew when it aired, the show wouldn’t be back for a long time. A hiatus until February when the show would return with non-stop episodes through May. This was done due to fan complaints about the long breaks between new episodes. The creators and ABC decided to make a straight season with no breaks in-between. This was something other networks had done with other popular series, and something ABC had even done in the past with other series on its own network. Think Alias or 24 over on Fox.

No one expected the strike though, and that has thrown a monkey wrench into a lot of things. Only eight of the sixteen episodes were finished filming before the strike started, and some rumors were going around that the network and Lost executives might actually hold the series back until next fall. However, they moved forward with what they have now, and the week for Lost to return has arrived. Thursday night, season four will premiere, and we hope that a lot of the unanswered questions fans like myself were left with will be answered.

In case you missed the season finale or you don’t have the third season on DVD, ABC does plan to re-air the season finale in a special format with background information and additional features this Wednesday night. Fans of the series can also look for signs of their favorite series in Marvel comics now out on sale including Wolverine Origins. The season four premiere of Lost airs Thursday night in the regular time slot for Grey’s Anatomy.
