    • It is hard to believe it is almost time for summer, but here we are in March, and before we know it the season finales will be here and those hot and boring days of summer will be here. Wait. The not so boring days of summer I should say. When I was growing up, I remember that summer used to be the time of year where there really wasn’t anything to watch on television. People actually used to go out more.  I know. What a shocking concept!

Then networks started to wise up. They started bringing programming in during the summer months. Little mini-seasons of top series that seemed to do well. I remember Beverly Hills, 90210 was one of the first to do this. When it did well, other networks followed, and now networks have a whole set summer programming schedule. NBC set there schedule for the summer months just yesterday, and if you’re a fan of science fiction shows then you might just be in love with it.

They are picking up series that have had popularity in other parts of the world and bringing them to NBC. One such series is Merlin. That series has done quite well on BBC. Another series they have picked up for this summer is The Listener, and yes America’s Got Talent is also making a come back this summer. The network has also pushed back season finales to the first week of June in hopes of helping Conan out a little bit when he takes over at The Tonight Show on June 1st.
