    • It is a relatively light news time due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, and apparently it was even light in viewers the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Rosie wanted to make her big come back to television after leaving The View and her own talk show behind. She wanted to revive something that was once quite popular, the variety show. She went to NBC with her idea, and they went ahead with a pilot.

The night before Thanksgving has always been a night reserved for specials and concerts, so it seemed like a perfect night to give Rosie her shot. Well, it was a good idea in theory, but not so much in practice. Only five million tuned in to watch Rosie Live, and by Friday she was ready to give up on her idea. Rosie Live is dead after just one outing. I didn’t watch the show myself, but I heard it was also plagued by problems - including not enough rehearsal time and problems with the show being live.

That is the chance you take with a live series. Anything that can go wrong probably will go wrong. Rosie has had me scratching my head for awhile now. I was a fan of her talk show back when it aired. In fact, I don’t remember a day when I didn’t watch her show. When that show ended, it seemed like Rosie changed. Perhaps she didn’t need to be too clean cut anymore. Sad to say, but I miss the Rosie I loved. This isn’t it.
