    • American Idol’s season has started, and we have had the last three weeks full of auditions. The customary fourth week we would see here is now gone. Things are changing in the world when it comes to American Idol. A new judge was added to the mix this season, a week was cut off of auditions, which is probably good because the show was somehow running out of material by the last set of auditions.

One of the big changes this year is still to come. Instead of the final twenty-four, we will have the top thirty-six battle it out starting this week. There is no denying that American Idol is still one of the top shows on air. Nearing thirty million viewers tune in weekly to watch the action. The numbers may have dropped slightly with the seasons as they go on, but people still watch. American Idol makes Fox one of the top networks, if not the top network.

American Idol numbers are even beating out Lost’s numbers, and that is definitely saying something. The first American Idol is even making waves again with her new solo effort, as Kelly Clarkson tops the billboard charts with her latest single. American Idol looks like a neverending story. How many seasons will this yearly search and story go on? We will ever see a real end to American Idol? I really don’t know.  Anything is possible when it comes to television. I think it all depends on the judges. American Idol would not be the same without them.
