    • Fox named their new mid-season line-up this week, and they are definitely shaking things up when it comes to their programming. Things are getting moved around to make room for the return of American Idol. That series is heading into its eighth season, and we should soon see what changes they have made to the series.

American Idol is set to return with a two night premiere on January 13 and January 14. No Thursday night results show as was first thought to happen. This causes some upheaval as House and Bones have to move. House is moving to Monday nights at 8/7c. This puts it in front of 24. Bones is moving to Thursday nights at 8/7c, which puts up against ABC’s Ugly Betty. House taking over the Monday night slot sends The Sarah Connor Chronicles to Friday nights at 8/7c.

Friday is known as a death night for television, and this move would put it there. Another shocking move is seeing Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse also set for a Friday night berth. That series is set to premiere on FOX Friday February 13. This series has been highly anticipated, and now many are wondering why the series is being set for Friday right off the bat. This is a good question. Is the series not as good as was hoped? Or is Fox already setting up another science fiction series for a quick fall? We will have to wait to find out in February.
