    • The future for Knight Rider is starting to look a bit dim. NBC has cut down their episode order from 21 to 17, and the series will end its season at the end of February. This series has had its share of problems. In hopes of picking up steam, the series axed three characters and decided to change its focus. That hasn’t even happened yet, but it seems NBC is not as behind the series as it once was.

With the cut in episodes, the series is starting look like it might be canceled. This isn’t a surprise really because this is when those decisions are made. ABC canceled a few series not too long ago, and NBC pulled the plug on My Own Worst Enemy. If something isn’t working, the network will glady pull the plug. Low ratings have been a problem for Knight Rider, and now it looks like nothing can really save it.

No official announcement of the show’s end has been made yet, but it could really happen at anytime. Perhaps NBC is waiting until the series returns from its holiday break to see how it does with ratings. There is still some hope the series will stick around. I actually enjoy the show. It is high tech fun with hot people and some laughs thrown in each week. It isn’t the most intelligent program on air, but it doesn’t really need to be. The guy and his crew go after bad guys every week. It is just a simple series. I’d like to see it stick around for awhile. Hopefully, NBC will give it a chance to do that.
