- About a week and a half ago, news broke about a possible affair between country singer and actress Leann Rimes and the co-star from her latest television movie, Eddie Cibrain. The two starred together on a movie that aired on Lifetime last weekend, Northern Lights. When the affair rumors broke, both sides of it came out denying that anything happened between the two of them while they worked together or since.
  
  However, it doesn’t really matter if they had an affair or not. The rumors alone brought people in to watch the movie. The film had the highest turn out in viewers for the network. The movie didn’t top anything that topped the network last year however. This does bring up something interesting. The fact that more people tuned in just because of a few juicy rumors makes you wonder. Does this happen more often than not?
  
  Did more people tune in to watch Grey’s Anatomy with some of the behind the scenes drama and the buzz surrounding their more outrageous story lines? How about Ghost Whisperer? Have more tuned in now after hearing about the story line with Melinda and her husband Jim? His death and the eventual body swapping has been big news since it happened in November. The rumors of an off-screen woman between Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy has also been making news in recent weeks. Does news and rumors like this make you tune in more? What do you think?
