His jail time held up things with his hit Fox series 24, which has been held further up by the writer’s strike. The strike does look like there is a chance of it ending soon after an agreement with the DGA over the weekend set a precedent.

It is said that during his time behind bars, the only ones Sutherland allowed to visit him were his lawyer and doctor. He wanted no friends or family to visit. He spent much of his time to himself and working at his assigned tasks. Sutherland walked out of the Los Angeles jail in Glendale, California just after midnight. He served his full sentence for his DUI offense. On top of the jail time, he also has five years probation and an alcohol related program for eighteen months. Hopefully, as soon as the strike ends production can begin on the next season of 24.

Michelle Rodriguez also jailed in December for her own DUI offense with a six month sentence was also released earlier this month. The actress, best known to television audiences for her role on ABC’s Lost, served only a tenth of her own sentence by spending eighteen days behind bars. She was released to a program that allows non-violent women offenders early release due to the problem of overcrowding in Los Angeles jails. Lost returns to ABC on Thursday January 31st.
