    • lword6poster.jpgOne of my favorite series is The L Word. I have been watching the series since its first season premiered, and I have stuck with the series through all the bumps in the road it has had along the way. There has been a lot of them too. I have never understood some of the decisions the series has made about plot and character direction. One year, Jenny is sane. The next she is off her rocker. This has gone back and forth throughout the series, and it has been frustrating to say the least.

Now we are headed into season six. We know it is the final season, and there is a new poster out for it that has been raising some eyebrows, including mine. The poster looks like an orgy in the making, and it is making me wonder what the creator of the series has in store for the last eight episodes. Are they hinting at a relationship between Jenny and Shane? At the end of season five, Jenny caught her best friend Shane having sex with her girlfriend, well ex-girlfriend. Still Jenny still had hopes for the two of them.

However, in this poster Jenny and Shane are quite close. In the last two days, more promos and the opening scene of the first episode have come out. We now know someone has died. One screen shot has leaked out, and it shows the identity of the person that dies. It is an original cast member, and her death will set up the spin-off series.

As a fan of the series, I want to see it get a proper send off. It has been a staple of my television viewing, and I have stuck by it even when I questioned the series and what it was doing. However, with what I have seen today, I’m not sure I understand the direction this series is taking for its final season. We will see what happens when the series returns in January.
