The Mole Returns To ABC
-
Another reality series is making its return to network television in order to save us all from having nothing to watch on television during this long writer’s strike. ABC announced it would be bringing back what some have called the smartest show on television to ABC with an order of ten new episodes. However, we won’t see these air until over the long summer months.
This new Mole will not be a celebrity version as they have done in the past, and a new host is now being looked for as well. Past hosts have been Anderson Cooper, best known from CNN, and Ahmad Rashad. ABC executives are saying plans to bring this series back were in place before the strike. No news on just who the new host may be, but I’m sure they will be able to find one in the months ahead. Casting and a host search are both now underway.
There are plans to lighten the series a bit, and not make it as intelligent, but I’m not sure why this is needed. Fans tuned in and loved it in its original format when it aired in the past. Changing a working formula might not be the best idea. Only time will tell. No set premiere date yet for The Mole’s return, but we do know it will be taking over ABC at some point this summer.

The Mole is my number 1 favorite show. The celebrity versions were not that good (Steven Baldwin was funny). But the 2 regular seasons were great.
I was glad to hear that this will be a regular The Mole. Hopefully they have some good challenges for the mole to mess up.
