Update on Eliminated American Idol: Josiah Leming
-
Last week the American Idol judges chose to eliminate 18-year-old Josiah Leming from the Top 24. Was this a big mistake? Did Paul, Simon and Randy let a talented young contestant go? Many believe they did, and I have to agree.Josiah Leming was the boy who (by choice) chose to live in his car. His American Idol audition earned him a unanimous yes from the judges, but it didn’t earn him a unanimous yes into the top 24. The result: American Idol message boards and blogs exploded with messages from angry fans expressing how they believe American Idol made a mistake and should give Josiah Leming another chance. Will American Idol listen? I don’t know, but what I do know is since Josiah Leming’s appearance on American Idol, he has gained many new fans, interviews and it appears as if he’s on his way to fame.
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Josiah said he has sold over 1000 albums on his MySpace page. In regards to him living in his car, Josiah told Access Hollywood, “It sounds like those days are over.”
Josiah Leming’s album sales isn’t the only accomplishment since his shocking elimination from American Idol, because Access Hollywood reported that the president of FOX contacted Josiah, and he will also make an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, which is scheduled to air Tuesday. I’m sure there’s much more ahead for this young and talented young man, and by the time he’s reached the top, American Idol will be kicking themself in the butt.
Do you believe American Idol made a mistake by cutting Josiah Leming last week? Where do you see Josiah one year from now?
